Cartagena became the municipality of Spain with more beaches certified with the 'Q' (20/10/2008)

Cartagena has already become the town in Spain with more beaches certified with the "Q" Quality Tourism.

Cala Cortina, Minor Outlying Islands, Playa Honda, Mar de Cristal, Cala del Pino, Cavanna Beach, Playa del Barco Perdido, Galúa Beach, Playa de Levante and Playa de la Gola are the top ten beaches in Cartagena have managed to bring the national forefront of quality tourism.

Cartagena becomes the first Spanish town with more beaches distinguished with this award, followed by Los Alcazares, which currently has six certified beaches and lies in second place nationally.

In total, and if you add the two certified beaches of Mazarrón and Aguilas, Murcia Region currently has 19 beaches marked 'Q', making it the third Autonomous Region in certification of beaches, after Andalusia and Valencia.

Some of the elements measured at the time of testing conditions of excellence in this industry include the quality control of water and sand cleanliness, maintenance of facilities, accessibility and characteristics of services offered to visitors.

On aggregate certifications, Murcia Region now has over 100 companies and organizations that have achieved the 'Q' for quality tourism, which represents an increase of certifications by 20 percent over the last committee of the Institute of Spanish Tourism Quality, which took place on Friday 17 October.
