La Manga renews its pedestrian route and shot (10/08/2008)

La Manga Consortium has launched a project for upgrading the pedestrian path and road of the Mar Menor, in the amount of 229,000 euros, which will affect the area Mangalán Hotel.

The work aims at the renewal of much of the asphalt, curb, and pavements, with fords necessary to allow accessibility for people with reduced mobility, among other actions.

In addition, repeated replacing street lighting with a more current that meets current regulations.

In addition, the consortium plans to intervene in the improvement of urban services for the collection and storm water drainage.

In terms of accessibility works to the beaches, the project aims to develop a small square that gives access to the coast.

It is provided using a treatment with cobblestone pavement, along with the placement of a ramp accessible to the sand, facilitate entry to users.

Similarly, the area will be provided with a consistent street furniture with benches, litter bins, lighting and planters that act as physical boundary between the square and the countryside.

La Manga Consortium aims to value the open space of the Mar Menor as a transition between urban and natural, to give an application accessible to all citizens.
