The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has signed this afternoon in San Pedro del Pinatar a new partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Community and the Federation of Fishermen in the region for solid waste removal from the sea.

This is a new agreement similar to those already previously signed by the municipality of Cartagena, which is committed to port, available to the fishermen about the various containers in which to deposit waste that hook into their networks or collected directly from the sea .

Subsequently, the concessionaire of the service, Lhicarsa, is responsible for its removal and treatment.

So in 2007, the City removed 110 containers, with some 88,000 liters of waste.

The ceremony was the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the president of the Regional Federation of Fishermen, Manuel Ballesta, who have signed similar agreements with the mayors and representatives of Mazarrón, San Pedro del Pinatar and Eagles .
