Sustainable Development and the City of Cartagena install two access control points Calblanque Regional Park (24/07/2008)

The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning, through the Directorate General of the Environment, and the city of Cartagena have started today the installation of two access points and survey Calblanque Regional Park.

The aim of this pilot is to obtain accurate information in the future to allow regular access to the beaches of Calblanque to reconcile the use and enjoyment of those with high ecological values of the Park.

The general director of the Natural, Borrega Rodrigo said: "This measure is part of the collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry and the Municipality of Cartagena for the conservation, improvement and restoration of coastal Calblanque Regional Park, Mount of Ashes and Eagles rock.

The survey access points and are an important tool that we are installing to test the ability of host to the beaches and ensure the preservation of the area and to provide information to visitors to make sustainable use of this wonderful regional coastal zone ".

The two access points and survey are installed in the area of bifurcation of the main road and park in the heart of La Jordana.

It is also expected to be launched on August 5, ending the 31 day pilot.

In the post information will be collected through a survey of the views of park users about the need for access control, the implementation of complementary services to explore this natural area (bikes, vans, etc.). the entrance to the beaches, as well as to provide information to the public, especially local, on this type of action.

"With the data obtained in this pilot will be designed for future actions related to the Regional Park for public use," said general director of the Natural Environment.

Remember that earlier this year, the Ministry signed with the city of Cartagena, an agreement which is endowed with 300,000 euros to the Institute of Coastal Municipal Services Consistory for the implementation of infrastructure Calblanque Regional Park, Monte de Las Eagles Ash and Peña, improvements that contribute to the enhancement of the area and preserve environmental values.

Among the various measures, was the installation of these access points and survey will be launched in August.
