The state of our beaches, through Internet and mobile (20/06/2008)

As in previous years, the City of Cartagena, through the Civil Protection Service has implemented a system whereby citizens can have full information on the status of the coastal beaches, through internet and mobile phone.

The information will be provided by the staff attending each of the rescue stations and will be updated on time, every time you register an impact.

In principle the information provided will be referred to the 15 posts that are already in operation, and that they will be 22 from 1 July to 31 August.

The information may be accessed through the web www.cartagena.es.

Through this means the public may obtain information about the green flag, yellow or red flag at each of the beaches and the sea state, location, access, advice for swimmers and services available.

In some cases, such as Galúa Beach, you can also access a webcam that offers real-time images and meteorological data on temperature and wind speed and direction.

Through the phone, citizens can know what kind of flag that flies in each of the beach.

To do so, must send a text message with the word BEACHES to 609030160, seconds after receiving information on their handsets.

This initiative is part of actions to promote greater information to citizens in the monitoring plan on the beaches of Civil Protection, which will remain operational until September 30.
