The Center for Rural Traditions retrieves the local customs Aljorra (18/03/2008)

The Center for Recovery and Development of Traditional Cultural Activities, Culinary and Exhibition Centre The Aljorra has opened its doors this morning, with the goal of having women in this field Cartagena council carry on the traditions and customs.

The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has been commissioned to discover the inaugural board, accompanied by several council members and citizens of La Aljorra.

Barreiro pointed out that this center is in addition to the existing ones throughout the municipality for the recovery of local traditions and customs, such as Bobbin Lace Museum.

The Center for Rural Traditions The Aljorra has a floor area of 200 square meters and houses several venues to promote the traditional culture of the agricultural council Campo de Cartagena.

Among them has a kitchen for preparing meals and eating habits, but is not focused solely on the recovery of the local cuisine, but also activities such as roll, tin, or dances.

The center's budget has hovered around the 156,000 and has been funded by various administrations, including the city of Cartagena, the Autonomous Community, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Freckles and the EAGGF through the European Leader Plus Programme.
