The Senior Fair will be held permanently in late May (25/04/2008)

The Second Exhibition Resources and Services 'Seniors with activity', was finally held on 30, 31 May and 1 June.

The event was originally scheduled for last weekend, but the inclement weather, strong gusts of wind began to blow from early Friday and came to demolish one of the tents set up on the esplanade of the Heroes of Cavite - led to the Social Care council to decide on its continuance.

Besides the change of dates is also a change in the location of the fair, which will move from the esplanade of the port to Plaza Juan XXIII, which lifted the tents ready for the event.

As recoradrá this show is aimed at offering a range of social services that improve the quality of life of a group that is growing in recent years.

In particular, people over 65 have increased from 26,123 in the year 2000 to 30,177 in late 2007, and this growth in numbers also means an increase in the demands of both elders as family members, who want the best for own, as noted Councilman Social Care, Antonio Calderon.

In the activities organized during the fair part of forty Senior Club of the municipality, which also has asked for their involvement in the various activities scheduled for theater, literary corner, party of peace, ...

In this sense, there will be a great booth which will include the work of twenty-two craft workshops which will go on sale, and food tastings organized by the various councils that participate in the fair.

All money raised will go to charities related to our elders.

TWO MILLION EUROS FOR SERVICE DELIVERY

The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, has been estimated at nearly two million euros investment to provide the Home Care Service, which currently reaches about 1,500 people.

This service includes initiatives already underway, some of them experimentally, such as device catering, home care, weekend and respite care, among others.

Antonio Calderon has stated that as the mayor explained to the economic crisis comes, will not invest in projects resulting in improved social care, but without wasting and being aware that through a difficult time.
