A year in advance to get married in the Palace Hall (12/05/2008)

The obligation to hire the wedding banquet with several months in advance has led to the citizens of Cartagena that want a civil marriage at the Palace Hall to request date almost a year before the celebration.

Thus, at the request of the parties the city of Cartagena is now arranging wedding dates for 2009, especially the months of April, May or July, although during 2008 dates are still free to marry.

Citizens who wish to celebrate their civil wedding at City Hall in person may apply by completing and returning an instance in the General Register of the administrative building of the City or any of the SKIP, or through the municipal website www.cartagena.es .

Previously, those interested should apply for investigation of the case prior to the Civil Registry of the city, located on Calle San Martín de Porres, expressing his desire that the link is authorized by a municipal authority, and pay a rate of marriages civilians, which in 2008 amounted to 211.55 euros.

The wedding day celebration at the Palace Hall are Friday, 12 and 13 hours, and in the afternoon, provided that the councilor to commit to it, and Saturday, either morning or afternoon depending on demand.

All weekend, there is a Councillor 'on duty' of the government team in charge of officiating the link.

In 2007, 170 civil married couples in the Ceremonial Hall of the Town Hall, while in 2006 it made 164.
