City Council and unions agree on the RED for the next four years (21/05/2008)

The Department of Personnel of the City of Cartagena this morning has reached an agreement with the five unions that make up the staff meeting (CCOO, UGT, SIME, CSIF and USO) on the System of Special Dedication (RED) that affects workers municipal brigades, local police and fire departments.

As explained by the councilman, Jose Cabezas, this is unprecedented agreement because for the first time will run for four years until 2011, and has been signed with all the unions in the joint.

The RED is a bag of overtime which houses the staff of these three services to cover certain points of work throughout the year.

Each worker makes an average of 180 hours per year, which are paid through a fixed amount each month, ensuring the availability of City municipal employees.

One point that has led to the agreement was the regime that will fire staff, through the guards called location, going from 24 to eight hours, as the local police, and to be paid the same price: ie 33 euros per guard located.

Also, in the case of the local police, the applicable number of hours per year could range between 180 and 150, as appropriate.
