Environment will coordinate the premises of three weather stations in the municipality (09/02/2016)

The Councillor for the Environment, Francisco Calderon, held a working meeting this morning with representatives of the Meteorological Center of Guadalupe to address the implementation of meteorological stations at various locations in the municipality. The objectives of these facilities measuring and recording are meteorological variables and to develop forecasts and contribute to air surveillance.

So, we have determined the suitability of up three stations will be located in Pozo Estrecho, El Algar and Cabo de Palos.

From the Department of Environment will coordinate the process, in collaboration with the departments of Public Safety and Innovation and the entities involved: Local Police, Civil Protection and the Municipal Institute of Coastal Services (IMSEL).

The Meteorological Centre of Guadalupe is the territorial delegation of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

Headquartered in Guadalupe, it operated since 1984 carrying out important work in the forecasting and monitoring of adverse weather events, while providing support to environmental policy, climate change and sustainable development.
