The morning UPCT commemorates the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas (27/01/2016)

During the event, the expert in earthquake engineering Rafael Blazquez will deliver the lecture, they will invest to new doctors and given special awards

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) will commemorate tomorrow, January 28, the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas with an academic ceremony will begin at 11:30 hours at the university auditorium, located in the School of Industrial.

The event will be chaired by the rector, Jose Antonio Franco, and start with the master reading 'Science and seismic awareness in Spain', which will be given by Professor of Geotechnical Engineering UPCT Rafael Blazquez.

During the academic ceremony, which will be accompanied by the "School Coral Sauces" also will take place the investiture of new doctors;

the awards to teachers of reference in the European Higher Education Area;

special awards to race;

order of Masters and PhD order and surveys Teaching Personnel Research and Administration and Services with over 25 years provided to the University.

In addition, scholarships and prizes will be awarded Social Council.

Among the attendees it is expected to attend the Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez Mora;

the new president of the Board of UPCT Eugenio Galdón, will be the first time you go to this event;

the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela;

Doctor Honoris Causa by the UPCT, Rainer Gadow;

the government delegate, Antonio Sanchez Solis;

among other civilian and military authorities.

The feast of St. Thomas is a university tradition dating back to 1880, date in which Pope Leo XIII proclaimed him the patron of universities.
