Citizens says the ALDE supports communication errors that caused the loss of 600,000 € for the unemployed (26/01/2016)

Citizens spokesman Cartagena, Manuel Padin, said that "the first responsibility of the politician is defending the interests of the citizens, and all, of the most disadvantaged, still do not understand why lack of understanding or study have been lost thousand euros were for our stand. We are not convinced by the explanations, the damage is done "

Cartagena, Tuesday January-26.

Deputy Mayor and Councillor of the Department of Economic Strategy, Ana Belen Castejon, presided over today in special session, the Governing Council of the Agency of Local Development and Employment in which participated representatives of all local groups in the city of Cartagena, including Citizens spokesman Cartagena, Manuel Padin.

The reason for this meeting was to clarify the reasons why Cartagena has lost about 600,000 euros that corresponded in grants to organize training programs and to employed and unemployed;

for it has invited the director of the Employment and Training Service (SEF), Alejandro Zamora, who explained that this year has been allocated grants worth 860,000 euros to the municipality of Cartagena, and that "if it is not given more is because you have not asked for more. "

Zamora explained, face charges of Deputy Mayor that they had changed the basis of calls without warning, "the rules, the order of regulatory basis, was approved in September and the announcement was made later, and this legislation is what has served, from minute one, to each and every one of the municipalities to present projects, and indeed, all municipalities have submitted the maximum number of projects, except that of Cartagena ", thereby decrease of funds.

The director of the ALDE has admitted the loss of subsidies, and although he has acknowledged that he may have committed mistakes "that things could have been done better," he did not want to assume their responsibility, and neither wanted to make the maximum responsible for the agency, its president Ana Belen Castejon.

Citizens spokesman Cartagena, Manuel Padin, said that "the first responsibility of the politician is defending the interests of the citizens, and all, of the most disadvantaged, still do not understand why lack of understanding or communication is lost thousand euros were for our stand. We are not convinced by the explanations, the damage is done. "

Citizens spokesman also regretted that today's meeting has failed to put on the table a solution, "there have been many theories, from the director of the SEF, as well as the board of the ALDE, but very few solutions "

LOSS OF FUNDS

The Local Employment and Training Agency (ALDE), chaired by Deputy Mayor socialist, Ana Belen Castejon has lost in recent months some 600,000 euros in aid to organize training courses for the unemployed.

Castejon has not only admitted responsibility, but has been blaming the media before this loss of funds to diffuse SEF partisan conspiracy to hide their inability to manage employment and training area of the city.

He preferred to accuse the Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Community (which had itself granted the aid without problems correctly applied for other municipalities with Socialist government) rather than admit that something was not done right the ALDE.

Until five times since starting the new legislature, they performed poorly applications: for courses Youth Guarantee, for mixed employment and training programs and practices call for Local Public Employment.

Regarding the call for Local Public Employment (direct hiring long-term unemployed to work in the interest of the community) Cartagena City Council requested projects amounting to 143,000 euros, when he had access, and would have granted 270,000 euros.

That is, 127,000 euros lost.

The amount of aid lost, supported by the local government, is about 600,000 euros.

It is even more incomprehensible and outrageous what happened a few weeks ago, in relation to the call for training projects (in which 2.4 million euros were distributed).

Here the City of Cartagena has not even seen fit to appear in ten days claiming that "not enough time for anything."

However, Citizens Cartagena has learned that other municipalities with less structure to handle these matters themselves benefited from the aid when they completed the documentation in less than ten days:

Totana City Council: 1 project aid worth 33,182 euros

Jumilla City Council: 1 project aid worth 51,472 euros

City of Librilla: 1 project aid worth 39,020 euros

Abarán City Council: 1 project aid worth 30,536 euros

City of Las Torres: 1 project aid worth 41,208 euros

City of Mazarrón: 1 project aid worth 35,000 euros

Although these municipalities do not have the structure that take Cartagena, although not lucky enough to have a Local Agency for Employment and Training which expressly and directly aims to fight for subsidies of the municipality, If they have done their job and have agreed to the aid.

This painful loss of funds for unemployed Cartagena is without nuance or doubt, the responsibility of the president of ALDE, Deputy Mayor Ana Belen Castejon.

Cartagena is this profound apathy and inability does not deserve to manage a major issue for this town as in the area of training and employment.

Even more worrying is the chronic inability of Castejon to recognize these facts and learn from their mistakes, and from Citizens Cartagena we fear that bleeding money continue if Mrs. Castejon continues to lead the ALDE.
