Citizens, the volume of business of the Region of Murcia requires adequate provision of logistics infrastructure that helps reduce transport costs, and to get our products more competitive in domestic and international markets.

In an increasingly globalized world, with major competitors in Europe and North Africa, the LAZ appears in our business horizon as an urgent challenge, an essential element to strengthen our economy, to boost competitiveness of the Region of Murcia and the District of Cartagena and, above all, to create jobs in one of the most deeply hurt by the economic crisis areas;

if we calculate the weighted average for other areas of logistics activities in Spain, could generate about 2,000 direct jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs in the ZAL of Los Camachos.

Furthermore, we must consider the logistics activity is a strong and independent labor sector of financial market fluctuations and the need to transport goods unalterably grows.

Currently, the international freight is carried essentially by sea.

Approximately 90% of the displaced tonnage, 9,000 million tons per year, has a maritime component within its supply chain.

Therefore, this trend has led to the development of infrastructure and expertise that handle goods port origin: the ZAL.

The main ZAL Spain are in port areas: Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Algeciras, Aviles ... therefore, the LAZ must be in the belt surrounding the main economic lung of the Region: the Port of Cartagena.

According to all the studies consulted by citizens, most profitable location, and effective in the area of logistics activities it is the Camachos Industrial Estate, which owns two and a half square meters available for immediate execution million.

It is the passage of the AP-7 motorway, just 10 kilometers from the Port of Cartagena, 15 km from the airports of San Javier and Corvera, with the possibility of having a railway line without geographic features, and an enviable position natural in the future Mediterranean Corridor route.

The area of logistics activities has been repeatedly demanded by the civil society, and out of the District of Cartagena.

It has been claimed by the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, by the Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC) for Professional Associations, by unions and by many associations and business groups.

He is also a founding demand on the political agenda of Citizens for the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
