Jose Lopez appreciates the work of Rascasa, "a worthy mirror where to look" (27/11/2015)

The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez (MC), accompanied by the Councillor of the area of ​​Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon (MC), and the mayor of Portal and Transparency Office, Maria Jose Soler (MC), attended this afternoon at the inauguration of the Open Day of the Rascasa association, to mark the Silver Jubilee of the social entity.

The mayor stressed the warmth provided to the needy for twenty five years, while praising, in particular problems, the association "has been wet and stained."

Lopez has weighed that "the work is invaluable because it starts from the heart and love", "are an example to follow by all Cartagena, a living mirror where to look."

"The City of Cartagena reaffirms its commitment to Rascasa", "will prioritize actions focusing on those most in need at this association," "will work with the practices of fraternity, in the interest of helping his brother," he continued alderman.

The mayor has requested a stronger support for the Autonomous Community "is the best investment, the return is undeniable."

Finally, Jose Lopez has predicted that in the next Governing Board will adopt the draft Rascasa educational support and entertainment for social, child and youth inclusion.

After the inauguration, Lopez Calderon y Soler, visited the premises of the association, accompanied by Encarna Aguirre, who, as a guide, has shown the facilities to the mayors, presenting workers and users as well as inform them about programs and services promoted by this group.

Throughout these years, Rascasa has meaning to promote the comprehensive development of neighborhoods and areas considered at high social risk, basing its action on the respect and promotion of multiculturalism and gender equality.

Currently, Rascasa part of Phoenix Manifesto coordinator Los Mateos, composed of various groups and neighborhood associations who work together with the city of Cartagena in the development of this area through a comprehensive intervention plan 2015 2019.

The initiative divides into two lines: a comprehensive plan, and a performance-oriented prevention to avoid reaching a situation of deterioration.
