The opera returns to Cartagena with Madama Butterfly (09/11/2015)

The Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel rise Wednesday November 11th stage of the Hall A, at 21.00 hours, the opera Madama Butterfly.

Hand in hand with the orchestra and soloists of Opera 2001, this lyrical drama comes in three acts with libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica.

Madama Butterfly know the history of FB Pinkerton, an officer in the US Navy, and Cio-Cio-San, a young geisha called Butterfly (Butterfly), who after meeting aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in Nagasaki fall in love and get married .

When he has to return to the United States she expects him for three years, but family and friends tell him he will not return.

At that time she raises her son alone, which was born after Pinkerton left.

At the end of three years, Pinkerton finally returns, and with him his new American wife Kate and legitimate.

They come to pick up the child to raise him in the United States, that's when disaster strikes ...

The musical direction will be provided by Martin Mazik, the stage direction of Roberta Mattelli and the artistic direction of Luis Miguel Lainz.

The work will be in the original version in Italian and will have subtitles in Spanish.
