The City of Cartagena will open a public debate on cultural management (04/11/2015)

They are the Days Cartagena Culture and Municipality, to be held on 27 and 28 November in the Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel, and where it is expected the participation of more than 400 people from all cultural sectors of the municipality

The management of the municipal culture will be discussed between the cultural sectors of the municipality, through the Cartagena Conference. Culture and Municipality, organized by the City of Cartagena will be held on 27 and 28 November in the Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel.

The presentation of this conference has been in charge of the area councilor of Culture, Ricardo Segado, and the delegate mayor of Culture, David Martinez.

David Martinez has conveyed that to understand these days, you need to explain why this initiative: We believe that there was little cultural activity at the Cultural Center, poor maintenance of the cultural centers, and also in other cultural buildings.

In short, Martinez explained that public debate will bring the cultural situation in Cartagena, with main stage of this debate the conference presented.

The deputy mayor of Culture has said that the best thing to do is to open wide the doors of the Cultural Centre and Town Hall, and welcome everyone connected with culture.

David Martinez explained that this project must always develop together, with capital letters, because I think it is necessary to consider all the cultural agents to engage them.

So we wanted a public document, the Municipal Cultural Plan, setting out the commitments and proposals for the coming years and that must be the result of a broad debate among the various actors and cultural agents, and the general public was made.

The mayor continued explaining that started with an organizing committee of about twenty people from different fields of culture and technical council.

After that, some coordinators were chosen, and distributed in eleven committees, which have already begun to meet to start this debate, and an initial document that will take these ideas to this conference on 27 and 28 November.

In these eleven committees they have participated more than 150 people from different areas, and their contributions will serve as working material for the conference.

By the council were present municipal technicians of various areas (Culture, Education, Equality, Youth, Cultural Heritage and Social Services).

After these commissions and previous debates, the days come, where, according to the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez, intend to reach more than 400 people to discuss the way forward regarding the culture in our town.

STRUCTURE AND PROGRAM

The area councilor of Culture, Ricardo Segado, explained how they will develop these days: It will be on 27 and 28 November in El Batel, and are open to all citizens.

According to the councilor of the area of Culture, is expected the participation of 400 persons from the cultural sectors of the municipality, and seek that among the participants, associations and groups, companies, artists, etc. are, and which are the municipal cultural fabric.

The days have coordination and technical secretariat work corresponding to the Department of Culture.

It has also established a Committee Organized r with representatives of municipal departments and external people from various sectors and fields of the local culture.

The work of the conference will be held in plenary and I commissioned s in the afternoon on Friday and all day Saturday during the day.

The conclusions of each committee shall d ebatidas and endorsed by the plenary, and will form part of the conclusions of these cultural events.

In total there are eleven commissions proposed work: performing arts, visual arts;

Music;

Reading, book and libraries;

History, Cultural Heritage and Tourism;

Cinema and audiovisual;

Folklore, ethnography, crafts;

Diversity and multiculturalism;

Education and culture;

Science and thought and communication, local media and culture.

Likewise every committee that may unfold if the number of participants exceeds 25, will discuss a number of cross-cutting issues that affect all sectors, such as participation in municipal management, decentralization of cultural action in districts and councils , the equipment, the new cooperative model and networking, funding and sponsorship policy and charges, training, digital culture or gender equality.

Culture coordinator, Patricio Hernánde z, stressed that it is the first time in the city of Cartagena to all cultural sectors are invited to meet and choose, open debate, which lines to follow when managing the cultural landscape.

The conference opened on the Councillor for Culture, Education and Equality, D avid Martinez Noguera, Friday 27 and will be the guest intervention, Eduard Miralles, president of Interarts Foundation and one of the most renowned experts in Cultural Management.

On Saturday 28, will be the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, who closed by the conference.
