Student Industrial chocolate manufacture a 3D printer (29/10/2015)

Student associations of the Industrial School of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) presented on Thursday its technological developments.

This event, held for the third consecutive year, puts in value the knowledge and skills acquired by students of the School in its various degrees, and the enormous advantages of teamwork.

The novelty of this day was the 3D printer to make prints UPCT Chocolate Makers Association.

Students in this association have made in just two days and at a cost in material 400 euros this innovative printer, for which they have had to adapt their previous models "temperature and speed required by the chocolate, because it is more complex to print plastic filament, "says the founder of the association, José David Trapero.

This student of Electronic Engineering created the association a year ago and already more than 50 students who accompany him.

They have already produced more than 30 printers and have attracted the interest of companies in the sector.

The racing teams from the University show their vehicles.

Thus the UPCT Racing Team displayed its electric prototype;

Moto UPCT, his third motorcycle racing;

the UPCT Solar Race, the latest evolution of the electric vehicle propulsion and UPCT-Drones, their computer equipment.

This year also, members of the Eagle Patrol Air Force these days bring some of their equipment used in flight, as an ejection seat.

Developments of the IEEE association and new 3D printers UPCT Makers Association are also shown;

There will also be a presentation of OPENRov, closely linked to the Sirena company project (Autonomous Underwater powered by electricity using solar collectors), a kit for underwater exploration open code;

It will be released the next generation prototype UGV (Dron Terrestrial designed and manufactured entirely in the School of Industry);

Electric Bicycle prototype UPCT and will be the coming-Sumito a mini-robot child SUMO based on Arduino.

The new range of activities by the Sports Promotion Service, the IAESTE Association and Student Council are also presented.
