The Sports Pavilion Santa Lucia was the scene where he presented the second edition of the project called Towards social integration and cooperation for the sport of handball. The Obra Social La Caixa has donated 5,400 euros to the project of Club of Friends of Handball to cover catering expenses snacks and necessary for children to play the sport equipment for free.
The presentation took place during the afternoon of Tuesday 20 October and attended by the Councillor of Greater Sports, Ricardo Segado, and the Chief of Sports City of Cartagena, Eduardo Navy. He also appeared Director Business Area Cartagena de Obra Social La Caixa, Diego Garcia-Esteller, besides the director of the office of Cartagena, Diego Martinez-Otto.
The project of Friends of Handball Club Cartagena is to develop a school of handball in the Sports Pavilion of Santa Lucia, it will work again all the 2015/2016 season.
Children from primary schools of Aníbal Mateos and The Virgen del Mar in Santa Lucia, learn and practice handball in the afternoon and with the help of specialized instructors in the sport.
The activity is free for children and assistants girls and after the training will receive a snack provided by a caterer that will also be free.
School teams compete Handball St. Lucia in the Interschool League District of Cartagena, organized by the CAB Cartagena from November to May, and in addition, a selection of them will participate in the regional competition of the School Sports, organized by management General of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
