The Ministry of Health will resume the work of the Health Center of San Anton in Cartagena before the end of the year (05/10/2015)

The second phase of the work will be bid worth 3.1 million euros and has a period of 16 months

The Ministry of Health, through Murciano Health Service (SMS), will bid for the first phase of work on the new Health Center of San Anton Health Area II-Cartagena, which began in early 2015 with the order that the work "to resume before the end of the year", said the managing director of SMS, Francisco Agulló.

This decision is motivated by "the inability of the company awarded the initial competition to continue the work," said Agulló, who explained that "already preparing the new record to proceed to award the contract and resume work as soon as possible".

The initial competition for the works of the Health Center of San Anton was awarded tender by an amount close to 600,000 euros and so far as Agulló said, "has executed 30 percent of the work."

Thus, the tender for the new record, amounting to 414,952 euros, will be resolved later this year and the work will be carried out between May and June 2016.

The managing director said that the first phase of the construction affects an area of ​​518.09 square meters spread over a plant that will house the query area of ​​Pediatrics, Administrative and Support Services Area.

The new health center of St. Anton is built in two phases.

The second phase, valued at 3.1 million euros, will cover an implementation period of 16 months and will encompass the remaining units of this infrastructure.

Agulló stressed that the new Health Center of San Anton "is a priority to remedy the weaknesses of the current building because it is 30 years old and his inability to growth."

The managing director of SMS reiterated that primary care "is essential, so we must continue to ensure that professionals pay attention in the best conditions."

He added that "we must not forget that every year nearly 13 million primary care consultations are met."
