Jose Lopez joins the demands of the users of the Health Center of San Anton (03/10/2015)

The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, yesterday afternoon visited the Health Center of San Anton, joining neighbors outraged by the neglect and the numerous deficiencies that accumulate these, dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community health units.

Jose Lopez knew, firsthand, the Center presents serious problems that must be solved as quickly.

Thus, users suffer every day some obsolete facilities teeming with insects;

rooms are scarce attention to patients so physicians should be rotated to develop their work further in very small;

receiving customer service is minuscule, causing workers to develop their work in an almost claustrophobic atmosphere;

the administrative area is limited to a single room in which the staff is forced to care for several patients at the same time, which has meant that there is no privacy in the handling of personal data, medical history, etc.

The shortcomings of the health center, which serves nearly 20,000 people, do not stop there.

No emergency exit which caused surprise and indignation when the Fire Department in a workshop conducted at this facility, they noticed the absence of basic safety measures.

A complaints from neighbors joined the professionals that make up the Primary Care Team Health Center San Anton, who have transmitted the mayor to lead claiming the construction of a new office for twelve years, adding that the conditions of work sometimes come to be "inhuman".

The mayor traveled to San Anton to learn that the company was working on expanding the practice has abandoned work indefinitely, which has precipitated the logical complaints from neighbors.

After finishing the tour, Lopez said he wanted to meet with "my own eyes the shameful state in which is the Center".

"It is absolutely unacceptable that these neighbors who, like everyone else, and meet their tax obligations, do not have the right to access your health provision under the same conditions of dignity than other taxpayers."

Jose Lopez finished moving immediately invite the Minister of Health to know the status of the Centre to take appropriate measures to end this untenable situation as soon as possible.
