The Deputy Mayor claimed Cartagena's active presence in the FEMP (20/09/2015)

Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belen Castejon, who participated this weekend in the eleventh floor of the FEMP with the rest of mayors of the region, stressed the importance of having achieved a turnaround in the direction of the FEMP after elected as president the Socialist mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, of 60% of the vote.

Deputy Mayor explained that this shift will be crucial and decisive for municipalities like Cartagena because the FEMP remains the main instrument in the development of active policies and local government funding.

Ana Belen Castejon noted he expects the City of Cartagena has a very active role with the new President of the FEMP as Abel Caballero moved during his speech the important role they have to play the big cities in the economic and industrial development of all the territory.

In this sense, Castejon said that since the council of Greater Economic Strategy will invest in the modernization and competitiveness of the companies that made ​​reference the new president of the FEMP in Cartagena because we know that we are and want be related to large and small businesses that need a local government as interlocutor necessary paperwork and negotiations with other governments.

During the plenary of the FEMP, Deputy Mayor met with him "Oscar Lopez, PSOE senator, asking for more involvement by the municipality in dealing with amendments to the State Budget for Cartagena in infrastructure, business development, tourism and heritage. Castejon used this meeting to convey the senator concerned about the rejection of the amendments tabled by the Socialist parliamentary group in Congress and later continue its passage through the Senate.

Also, during the weekend the Deputy Mayor has held several meetings with other mayors of Spain, including the Mayor of Palma, José Hila Vargas, with whom Castejon has agreed on a cultural exchange visit to innovate and explore new methods tools and archaeological heritage tourism promotion, for example, existing Roman sites in both cities.
