The website of the City of Cartagena has been placed first in the ranking of municipal transparency in the Region of Murcia, the report prepared by the Department of Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona on the information posted on corporate websites 45 municipalities in the region.
The analysis of the information from the web is based on a series of indicators derived from four basic questions that citizens have a right to reply, and they are who the political representatives, how to manage common resources, how management report and what tools provide for public participation in the democratic control.
Next to Cartagena (73.1% note), five other municipalities in the region approved in this ranking, which are, in order of highest fulfillment, the de Murcia (68.2%), Molina del Segura (68.2 %), Lorca (58.5%), Las Torres de Cotillas (53.6%) and Lorquí (51.2%).
In the preparation of this report in the Murcia region they have collaborated professors of the Faculty of Communication and Information at the University of Murcia and the School of Communication at the Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia, who have conducted the first wave of assessment Data from the 45 municipalities in the period between January and April 2015.
The aim of this work is good practice fo crease in communication and information in municipal corporations and improvement among municipal politicians technical representatives, and journalists and eventually facilitate citizen participation in control government management.
