The Civil Guard dismantled three clandestine greenhouses for the cultivation of hallucinogenic cactus (24/07/2015)

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of felony cultivation, processing and trafficking of drugs

230 were apprehended cactus, with a high content of mescaline, peyote varieties of San Pedro

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed, in the hamlet of La Aljorra Cartagena, operation 'SANPEYOTE' a targeted research to combat drug trafficking fruit of which have been dismantled three clandestine greenhouses devoted to growing cactus Peyote and the San Pedro varieties, where they have seized 230 plants results 'lophophora williansii' and 'trichocereus pachanoi'.

The operation culminated with the arrest of three people on suspicion of crimes against public health and drug trafficking.

The investigation last June began when the Civil Guard detected the sale, over the Internet, cactus varieties classified as hallucinogenic plants high in mescaline.

The policemen found two farms in the hamlet of La Aljorra Cartagena, where supposedly the intensive cultivation of cacti under investigation was carried out.

This is the Peyote cactus 'lophophora williansii' and San Pedro 'trichocereus pachanoi' varieties known for its high content in mescaline and whose cultivation is a crime against public health.

The Civil Guard has arrested a person male, Spanish, 35 responsible for two greenhouses and a marriage of 65 and 70 and an Englishman whose property housed in a third gases.

They are credited with authorship of the alleged crime against public health and drug trafficking.

Research carried out by the Civil Guard has uncovered a network linked to the intensive cultivation of hallucinogenic cactus high on mescaline.

The plants were cultivated not only but also was modified by cuttings, its content in mescaline.

Those arrested, the effects seized, the plants seized and the proceedings have been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Cartagena.
