SYNOPSIS:
The film tells the story of two Franciscan monks (Sean Connery and Christian Slater) arrive at a Benedictine abbey in northern Italy to attend a meeting between Dominicans and Franciscans, presided over by the papal delegate to determine whether the Church should follow the path of poverty or not.
The Benedictine abbot requires one of the monks to help unravel the mystery of the death of a young monk, one of the best copyists and illustrators of the library of the abbey.
From there begins a network full of intrigue worth seeing.
