Twenty students participate in the Occupational Workshop Urban Maintenance (24/06/2015)

Occupational Urban Maintenance Workshop began a week ago.

A total of twenty students who are part of the course, and they are doing maintenance work in schools as the Gabriela Mistral in Slum Latin America, Virginia Perez in El Algar, Our Lady of the Sea in St. Lucia and school Macher.

The Barrios ADLE Program, working in collaboration with the Department of Education, and the ALDE Occupational Workshops are those who have conducted this workshop.

Twenty students, seven are unemployed under 30 years, with the monitor are conducting practical training workshop on school facilities and making small repairs of masonry, plumbing, electricity, gardening and painting.

The lectures are held at the Training Centre of Canteras.

The other thirteen students of the Occupational Urban Maintenance Workshop are unemployed older than 30 years, with knowledge in some of the disciplines of construction.

All students began their training course delivery applicator of pesticides. The Ministry of Agriculture will be responsible for examining students.

Those who get pass the test, they will get the license, which will allow them to handle pesticides.

In addition, twenty students will receive a scholarship of ten euros per day of attendance. After the training workshops also made ​​the c ourse Basic Pool Maintenance, and be willing to do internships in companies.

The main objective of this workshop is that students are prepared to perform complete maintenance on urban properties (maintenance of gardens, swimming pools, plumbing, masonry), improving their chances of entering the workplace.
