Thus, during the duration of the campaign, we will proceed to descaste level egg (drilling thereof) without destruction of nests and subsequent removal of nests, eggs and chicks, acting ultimately by capturing chicks and sacrifice the same.

Furthermore, it was also e l repellent product used use in the last three seasons for spraying nesting areas and their vicinity because it has been found that this method, combined with the other measures mentioned, is serving as a deterrent so that no re- nest in the same spot, as shown by reports by the pest control company Rafaela Belmonte.

The campaign now begins, which will be disseminated through mailing in the old town area and through the municipal website is aimed, once again, to the collaboration of citizens, so that all those who locate a nest, either on your roof or in a neighbor's building, at the earliest opportunity, in order to identify areas and act accordingly.

Notification of incidents by citizens can be made by phone by calling 968 12 8957 or by e-mail: controlplagas@ayto-cartagena.es or through the web: www.cartagena .com (HEADQUARTERS Electra "NICA_ Tramites_ PEST).

RESULTS OF THE 2014 CAMPAIGN

During the municipal campaign to control gulls last year, a total of 169 eggs were manipulated to prevent subsequent hatching, chicks were killed and 89.

This gives a total of about 258 potential adults, most of them future breeding.

During the campaign 244 points, 33 more than in the previous one, and the number of warnings is revised received was 66, similar to 2013, a figure that has remained thanks to the intensification of the mailings in the village, with To curb a possible drop in the number of notices.

From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the seagull population experiences a trend of population movement in favor of coastal zones, the result of pressure being exerted on the population in the urban campaign after campaign.

In this campaign, as in the above, it should be noted the significant increase in the level descaste egg, to the detriment of the capture of chicks.

The use of a liquid behavior modifier, in this as in the previous campaign, the trend has reinforced birds shift towards other zones, observing a shift in the position of nests compared to previous years.
