Closing of the workshop on Digital Literacy Villalba (26/03/2015)

Twelve students attended the closing of Digital Literacy Workshop in the neighborhood of Villalba to collect their diplomas hand Councillor Social Care, Antonio Calderon.

The Department, in collaboration with the IMAS, CEPAIM Foundation Work of Jesus, Travel Agencies, College Villalba neighborhood and IES Elcano, offers workshops for school support, basic computer and vocational training to women and youth, within the Gypsy Development Plan where is this workshop.

The Councillor for Social Services of the City of Cartagena, Antonio Calderon has sent thanks to Gypsy Development Plan have been able to develop this computer workshop aimed at women, also will continue with more.

Another upcoming courses will be the workshop for youth, Social Skills with 200 hours of practice in the neighborhood of Villalba.

The mayor has continued explaining that it is a good start where we try to accompany all social groups.

Villalba was a pending and it is good to have put that up and you see the reality of these young people so eager to work.

These courses allow them to expand their range of employment opportunities.

According to the mayor, from the Department of Social Services will continue working to have these courses and people can access jobs.

After delivery of diplomas, the students assistants have done a tour of the Palace Hall.

The Gypsy Development Plan are actions of community intervention that began in December last year and conclude the month of May.

Aim to boost the social fabric and promote action on the most vulnerable.

Some of these actions are the Digital Literacy Workshop aimed at women.

Other workshops are:

- Workshop tutoring aimed at children / as between 10 and 16 years aimed at preventing school failure and early school leaving.

It takes place from Monday to Friday from 16.00 to 18.00 hours in the local office of the district until next May 29.

- Course of vocational training for young people aged 16 to 24 who has two modules.

The first is computer and basic skills (from March 23 to April 10) with a duration of 44 hours, and the second city maintenance (from April 13 to May 29) with a duration of 165 hours.

This course will be held in the neighborhood so it can serve as a tool to enter the workforce or continue your career path of young people who are unemployed.
