The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, has expressed regret and the Municipal Corporation for the death of the former municipal councilor between the years 1983-1987, José Ramón Bustillo Navia-Osorio.

Barreiro has condolences to the widow and family of Bustillo, whose funeral will be held this afternoon at 17:30 in the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia.

Besides mayor of the Municipal People's Party, Bustillo was councilor of Urbanism in 1987, during the popular-cantonal government.

During his long political career Bustillo was also d regional iputado, Minister of the Presidency and Public Works of the Autonomous Community and national senator.

Born in Cartagena in 1936, was a naval engineer. His death occurred yesterday victim of cancer who had fought against during the last years of his life.
