The candidate of Unión Progreso y Democracia (UPyD) for mayor of Cartagena, Pedro Antonio Garcia, expressed his "total rejection" to the designation of Pilar Barreiro as Popular Party candidate for mayor of the port city.
"With the appointment of Pilar Barreiro, we congratulate the People's Party for being blind and deaf to the request for change of the residents of Cartagena".
In this context, local training magenta spokesman said: "We are absolutely sure that the PP has committed a serious error in choosing Pilar Barreiro".
For Garcia "not only must remain mayor, but also should not be a candidate for the sixth consecutive time, after so many doubts generated its management".
"We believe that the Popular Party has taken a wrong decision, has decided not democratic primaries do not ask their members, and this is bad news for all residents of Cartagena".
Similarly, Pedro Antonio Garcia recalled that UPyD itself represents change and is an important alternative to the old policies.
"We have been working seven years, every day, to propose what we would do in the Consistory, but acting out of it."
In conclusion, local spokesman has focused on two of the most important issues that are included in the electoral program UPyD, such as end corruption, and secondly regeneration municipal politics.
