The XVIII Regional Young Performers Competition between strings and brass will set off on Monday, March 16, at 17 am, with the first auditions of the mode of percussion.
In this edition, organized by the Youth Council of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, attended by 167 young people distributed in different ways: percussion, woodwinds, piano, strings, brass wind, flamenco singing and guitar.
The competition consists of two phases: a playoff and final will take place during the months of March and April in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.

The young participants, who attend professional music instrument with which to compete, will perform two classical pieces of free choice of different styles, both being edited.
As for the awards, totaling 10,000 euros established a first prize in each of the modalities of 750 euros, a second 350 euros will be distributed, and new this year a third prize of 150 euros will be added.
There will be a Special Mention Young Valor, in each of the modes when the jury so deemed by the work and performance quality of children under 15 years.
The Awards Ceremony and Closing Concert will be held on May 8 in the Auditorium and Convention Centre, the Batel, Room A, a place where he will announce the verdict of the jury in each of the modalities.
At the awards ceremony Jover tenor Aaron Vidal (I prize in the singing contest last year) will sing accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, closing the act Symphony Orchestra of the Music Conservatory of Cartagena.
