A new chair company provides scholarships, internships and the possibility of incorporating graduates UPCT (20/02/2015)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena has today with a new chair on a network.

"Internet of the future and global challenges of telecommunications Air-Networks-UPCT" is the new addition.

The aim of the chair, digirida by Victoria Good teacher, is developing R + D + I in the field of Future Internet and telecommunications.

The new "Air Chair Networks" offers two becasremuneradas ten months and an award for Best Thesis or Grade.

"And, depending on the skills learned and demonstrated during the scholarship period, Air Networks can offer joining the company," says Raul Aledo, CEO of the company.

Air Networks select two fellows to carry out research, and award a prize to the best Thesis or Grade.

The company also agrees to hire recent graduates UPCT.

In recent weeks it has added to its staff two graduates of the School of Telecommunications Engineering.

The objective of the Chair Air Networks-UPCT is the development of collaborative activities in the fields of training and internship students, promote research and development of new products as well as participation in R & D in the field of Information Technology and Communications.

The lecture will address research related to three types of technological challenges: Future Internet, Software Defined Networking (SDN) and 5G.

So far, the team of R + D + i Air Networks has collaborated with the School of Teleco in different projects, such as Perseus, consisting of a platform for multimedia content and television that aims to satisfy the demands of extreme quality for all users on any device, because the video ser vices today's high quality lead to increased traffic that often leads to a bottleneck for existing networks.

Currently, the Perseus platform is in prototype stage with the best results in quality and user experience.

Air Networks has its own multi-service network and data centers nationwide.

He is currently the fourth wholesale operator in data transmission operators in Spain, and its network of fiber optic and wireless links totaled 20,000 km in length.

Air Networks stands out as the only operator that has a fully integrated data network prepared to offer up to 100 Gbps and 40 Gbps onnet offnet.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the Rector, José Antonio Franco;

Universities CEO, Luis Javier Lozano;

the company president, Raul Aledo Coy;

Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Communications, Juan Luis Pedro and the director of the School of Telecommunications Engineering, Leandro Juan Llácer.

Subsequently, the new chair has been presented to students in the School of Telecommunications Engineering.
