Education invested more than four million in the new school of La Aljorra to unify the two existing (10/02/2015)

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities invest 4,024,520 euros in the construction of new public school in La Aljorra, which unify the two that exist now, a project whose writing is in its final stage to move his bidding.

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, this morning held a working meeting with the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, which addressed the educational needs of the municipality and the construction of this new center on a plot loaned by the Consistory.

Sanchez said: "The new school will meet the demands of the educational community of La Aljorra, in several meetings moved to the Ministry of Education and the City Council his hope that the center would unify the two current".

The new educational infrastructure is planned for nine units of Early Childhood Education and Elementary 18 units.

The Minister said that "in this way the educational needs will be met in Cartagena deputation infrastructures and demands expressed by the parents of La Aljorra, who considered necessary for the new school came to replace the two that exist today, CEIP Miguel de Cervantes and CEIP La Aljorra ".

Visit the PFIC Hesperides

Following the meeting between the Minister of Education and the mayor of Cartagena, both visited the Integrated Vocational Training Centre Hesperides, where 534 students study any of the 19 cycles or higher level vocational training.

Pedro Antonio Sánchez and Pilar Barreiro stressed "the work of teachers and students in the center, which has become a reference to regional and national levels" and that offer this course as a novelty, two cycles of FP Dual "almost unique" in Spain: Underwater and Hyperbaric Operations and Emergencies and Civil Protection.

The center has recently increased its equipment with facilities with direct sea access provided by the Port Authority of Cartagena, as well as a boat.

It also boasts high-tech simulator to practice sailing ships.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, in collaboration with the City and equipment of the PFIC Hesperides, "is working to further expand the training offered by the center as well as the possibility of extending the Dual FP" Sanchez said.
