`` No other government in our democracy larger budget devoted to education that the Government of Rajoy'', stressed the mayor of Cartagena and General Secretary, Pilar Barreiro in a meeting with members and supporters that took place this afternoon in the headquarters of the Popular Party of Cartagena.

Barreiro has been accompanied by the secretary general of the Ministry of Education, Manuel Marcos Sánchez, the General Director of Educational Centers, María Dolores Valcárcel, the Director General of Universities, Luis Javier Lozano and the Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Josefa Maroto.

Manuel Marcos Sanchez noted that `` the priority for the Popular Party is to ensure quality public education and for ensuring a future for young ", and added the importance of LOMCE to improve conditions and that all students can acquire their full personal and professional development.

The Secretary General explained how is developing the implementation of LOMCE in schools in the region, and the strategy carried out by the Ministry focused on `` more educational quality, escolar'' success.

In this regard, he insisted that reform LOMCE has been essential to correct the disastrous results of successive socialist laws that have caused that one in three young Spaniards saw doomed to dropout.

Moreover, the Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Josefa Maroto, recalled the investment made by the City Council in the last parliament where they have invested over 29 million euros, of which 19,822,707 euros were allocated to actions aimed at maintaining schools in the municipality.

In relation to enlargement, construction and maintenance of primary schools have been invested 1,292,105 euros.

Among recent investments, `` Maroto highlighted important works such as opening a new school, the CEIP Atalaya, with an investment of 2,886,190.06 euros and the Center for Child Care of Private Mediterranean, whose construction has allocated more than 1 million euros and is scheduled to begin operation next curso''.

Note that there is a network of 53 public schools and 14 arranged in Cartagena.

Of the total 23 centers are bilingual, Cartagena than the regional average.
