Cartagena Port of Cultures joins the Day of Nonviolence and Peace (29/01/2015)

In commemoration of the death of Gandhi, January 30 was declared Day of Non-violence and Peace.

This day is celebrated by many children in their schools, with great human chains dressed in white as a dove and reading manifestos.

The Department of Tourism of Cartagena, through Cartagena Port of Cultures joins this celebration this weekend starting an activity program called A haven for PEACE in the Museum-Shelter of the Civil War, aimed at children, which aims to awaken feelings and positive feelings about the Culture of Peace through art and creativity.

ACTIVITIES

Artists for Peace Child Activity

A special activity where children through games, music, colors and videos, understand the importance of the Culture of Peace. These small Artists for Peace, transform a dark gallery in a space full of color, with their hands and various materials that allow them to express through Art and Creativity means to them a better world.

Finally, this new gallery will be part of the Museum's exhibition, where images of the transformation of it, will result in a final video of teamwork by all small Artists for Peace.

Children who wish to have a nice memory of a great collage joined by messages of peace may apply to Cartagena Port of Cultures.

It will take place on weekends, starting on Saturday January 31 and continuing for days 1, 7, 14, 15, 22 and 28 February and 1, 7 and March 15 at 12 noon.

The price is 3.50 euros, obtaining a 50% discount if you belong to the Club Cartagena Port of Cultures.

A World of Color.

Children's Theatre

A theatrical show where a character come from another imaginary world explores the Refuge, where some time lost all light, becoming a gray world does.

Children, people of different colors, accompanied by this extraterrestrial fun, learn to resolve conflicts, arousing positive feelings playing with brightly colored lights.

An educational and fun way to learn the dialogue between cultures based on respect, freedom and tolerance.

8 and 21 February and 8 and March 14 will be held at 12 noon.

The price is 5 euros.
