Inaugurated the new offices of the professors of Civil Engineering (27/01/2015)

The refurbishment of the new headquarters of the Predepartmental Unit of Civil Engineering Campus Alfonso XIII have been completed and in the coming days will proceed with the transfer of teachers to the new premises.

The new headquarters, which was visited by the Rector, the Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure, José Pérez, and the heads of the School of Civil and Mining, has approximately 800 square meters on the first floor of Lecture A. The investment was approximately 200,000 euros and the execution time was five months.

The project has been dominated by the concept of "energy rehabilitation", having been incorporated in the bidding process criteria for assessing energy efficiency improvements proposed by the different companies.

Improvements finally implemented have involved the installation of an air conditioning system Refrigerant Volume Variable (VRV) high efficiency, the use of LED lighting with occupancy sensors and daylighting, improved building envelope related the injection of insulating air chamber building envelope, replacing blinds cajonadas and seal elements and installation of aluminum frames with thermal break and low emission glass.

With this project responsible for the teaching and research of the Master of Engineering in Civil and Ports teachers have specially adapted spaces ranging to facilitate the process of teaching and learning and student collaboration in research areas, by providing four rooms R & D, for different groups, along with faculty offices, which thus also reunited.
