A new cityscape emerging across the northern access to the city (11/12/2014)

Work to improve the appearance of the Avenue Victor Beltrí, focusing on the landscaping of the median and roundabouts, have already begun.

The Department of Infrastructure has also launched the paving and asphalting of several streets in districts and councils

The project to improve the urban landscape in the Avenue Victor Beltrí is already one up, one of the initiatives of the Department of Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena to give a new look to one of the main entrances to the city, with e l landscaping the median and intermediate roundabouts of this very busy road, which links the city with Eixample neighborhood.

Besides improving the appearance of the avenue, which covers about a mile and a half long, packing shed water that forms the middle by vegetation cover of the slopes will allow mitigating the effects of floods in this collection channel stormwater, reducing the negative effects on the bottom, while runoff for irrigation of vegetation assistant prey.

The work is divided into two phases, the first for the conditioning of the medium, and the second to treatment of intermediate roundabouts, each of which, in turn, includes a part of gardening and secondly, adequacy of pavement and installation of smart irrigation system.

The implementation period is one month and the budget is around 326,000 euros.

WORKS OF PAVED IN THE MUNICIPALITY

The end of 2014 will bring improvement in asphalt and paving of several streets of the town of Cartagena, who will join the stretch, now completed, Paseo Alfonso XIII, between the Plaza of Spain and Juan de la Cosa, with a budget of 156.599 EUR.

The second phase of Paseo, to Plaza de Alicante, will be undertaken later pending the completion of the works Captains Ripoll and Street Sparta, which affect the Paseo.

Running, right now, is paving the road in Polygon Venice Avenue Santa Ana, that being the route of entry and exit and therefore the busiest, was somewhat deteriorated.

The budget amounts to 143,411 euros.

Other actions that are expected to run during this December are asphalt pavement improvements in Districts 1, for 115,000 euros;

District 4, for 107,951 euros;

Districts 3, 5 and 7, with a budget of 88,971 euros;

and streets of the Barrio de la Concepción, Saint Lucia and the District Virgen de la Caridad, for 51,116 euros.

Also it will proceed to the asphalting of Camino del Cementerio de San Antón, which also gives access road to the new campus of the UCAM and west of the Slum Latin America, with a budget allocation of 61,821 euros.

In the list of works must include two that were awarded before, such as improving pavement on the seafront and Plaza next to the Nautical Club of Punta Brava e n Urrutias, for 85,800 euros, which is substantially complete, ye l cycleway from the roundabout on Avenida Primera until IES Salinas del Mar Menor and replacement of pavement on the access road to the CEIP Mediterranean in La Manga, by 61,991 euros, still running.
