Intercepted in Portugal a concrete mixer truck with 2.1 tons of hashish destined Spain (15/11/2014)

Arrested five members of the drug gang in Portugal and another ten in Spain, including two members of the Security Forces

A joint venture of the National Police and the Polícia Judiciária has allowed Portugal to intercept a concrete mixer truck with 2.1 tons of hashish bound for Spain.

International police cooperation has allowed the drug seized in the Portuguese town of Tavira, before being transferred to our country through Huelva.

Arrested five members of the drug gang in Portugal and another ten in Spain, including two members of the Security Forces.

The investigation began late last year, when knowledge of the implementation were taken into the province of Huelva in a criminal organization originally from Morocco.

The members of this organization had planned to build the capacity to begin importing hashish from North Africa infrastructure.

International police cooperation

The officers were able to confirm that the criminal group had organized the entry into Spain of a significant amount of drug through the south of our border with Portugal.

Therefore, the cooperation of the Portuguese Polícia Judiciária requested police presence and settled in the town of Tavira (Portugal) and in the Spanish town of San Juan del Puerto.

Secret trapdoor to hide drugs

The agents that made the device proved how a guy escorted by a cement truck occupied by members of the drug trafficking organization crossed the bridge over the Guadiana river into Portugal vehicle.

Once in Portugal country, the vehicle went to a lonely place in the area of ​​Tavira, parking next to a rural dwelling.

It is then that the Spanish and Portuguese agents decide to intervene by arresting five people, three of Spanish nationality, a Romanian citizen and a Moroccan citizen.

Having secured the area, the researchers claimed the presence of firefighters from Tavira to open a hatch cut in a mixer and was concealed with putty and polyester.

From inside the cavity extracted a total of 70 bales of hashish threw weighing 2140 kilos.

Meanwhile, the agents proceeded to arrest in the Huelva town of San Juan del Puerto of the three responsible for receiving the truck with drugs.

Also arrested in Huelva seven other alleged members of the drug trafficking organization, including a sergeant in the Civil Guard and local police.

In the three house searches carried out in the homes of the heads of the organization, agents have seized 1,300 euros in cash and a gun.

Research has been carried out by agents of the Narcotics Group of the police station in Cartagena, the Provincial Commissioner UDYCO of Huelva and the Portuguese Polícia Judiciária.
