The DELI project gets underway in Cartagena with the establishment of its platform (04/11/2014)

Cartagena continues its commitment to diversity in the local economy in the hands of project DELI , which on Tuesday got underway with the establishment of the outer and inner shelf.

The Faculty of Business Polytechnic University hosted this event where politicians and technicians from different makers Councillors Hall and the regional government, employers, trade unions and social organizations involved.

Through this platform will work with experts from the Council of Europe in the sharing of measures to boost the local economy, a permanent link between the society and the government, explained this morning, Councillor for Employment, Joaquin Mowing, which attending this act by the mayor of Social Care, Antonio Calderon.

Nine other European cities make up this project, which involves a commitment to Cartagena economic development in this city that is increasingly diverse and that is what you need to do is to promote this diversity, highlighted on Tuesday the head of the Council of Europe, Gemma Pinyol, who in turn is the director of Project Instrategies expert within the Intercultural Cities project coordinator and RECI-Intercultural Cities Network.

Pinyol, who also held a meeting today with the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, was also responsible for one of the presentations that were held this morning at the Diversity Seminar on Economy and Local Integration, held in the old CIM, with talk The economic horizon of European cities and their social responsibility.

Europe is realizing that it is losing the potential diversity of the population that has that in countries like the US is getting higher, and hence the development of pioneering projects such as DELI, emphasized Pinyol who added that this program will be revealed what the needs of the private sector to develop economic initiatives and what the City can do at this point.

Appointment at the seminar Juan Antonio Pedroza Frutos, President of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES), who spoke on Cooperatives, Diversity and Local Development was also given.

In addition, a panel discussion in which the head of legal services in the City of Cartagena, Francisco Pagan, and Gemma Pinyol outlining best practices in hiring local companies and providers developed; Juan Antonio Segura, president talked about CEPAIM Socioeconomically City Manager;

Molina and David Laborda, head of BMN, explained the new alternatives for access to finance.

To develop this project has also organized a roundtable on the 26th, in the Assembly Hall of the Teatro Romano.

Technical Council of Europe, will present why and are intended to achieve with this project and where they go European policies.
