City Council and social organizations prepared during Open School A to Other Cultures (03/10/2014)

ACCEM representatives Thursday, CEPAIM Welcomes Murcia, Intered, La Botica del Libro, and Columbares Rascasa met in addition to the Heads of Service of the Department of Education and Social Services, to address the main priorities of this program

Within the program An Open School at Other Cultures, which develops from the Department of Education and Social Services of the City of Cartagena, a meeting with the social partners collaborating in that program, with the aim of establishing lines held Thursday performance for the year 2014-2015.

ACCEM Foundation CEPAIM, Welcomes Murcia, Intered, La Botica del Libro, and Columbares Rascasa, work in coordination with the City for the development of activities in educational institutes and centers of the municipality requesting access this offer intercultural work.

PROTECT CULTURAL DIVERSITY

The Open School at Other Cultures has among its objectives:

- To promote the realization of projects Intercultural Education in the schools in the municipality, with the involvement of all sectors of the educational community (students, teachers and family), thus enhancing their sensitivity to the fact of immigration and socio-cultural diversity.

- Contribute to the development of intercultural awareness in the educational community, favoring the establishment of an inclusive climate in schools, leading to a better knowledge and understanding of the customs, culture, language, thought and values student diversity.

- Promoting education in values ​​of tolerance and mutual solidarity between students / immigrants and as the host community, in order to further exchanges and appropriate relationships are achieved.

- Assist / the students / immigrants in their social and school integration by providing a greater understanding of the receiving context, avoiding discriminatory attitudes and understanding the rights and duties that inspire all relations of coexistence.

- Develop measures to enable the approach of parents of students / immigrants to schools as participating more actively in the education of their sons / daughters and standardized educational support and compensation procedures.

- Avoid conflicts arising from social dislocation and loss of cultural identity in immigrant children.
