The Council of Elders of the Regional Assembly of Murcia this morning approved an official statement in which it expressed unanimously and explicitly, their support for the initiative of the City of Cartagena opting to ownership of Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2015.
The statement, signed by the spokespersons of the three parliamentary groups (Popular, Socialist and Mixed), it is noted that the invitation to obtain the title of Spanish Capital of Gastronomy, by Turespaña, given the gastronomic tradition and quality of Cartagena , "is a great opportunity for the city projection, since the presence and promotion of Cartagena in all fairs organized under the auspices of the Tourism Institute of Spain is guaranteed."
The declaration adopted by the Assembly also highlights the immense cultural heritage of Cartgena, which, along with its rich gastronomic variety, form a perfect to increase and attract more visitors binomial.
