The Chair Cajamar Agrifood Cooperative organized this afternoon in Lorca a conference on competitiveness (16/09/2014)

The Cajamar Agrifood Cooperative Chair of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in collaboration with the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia (FECOAM), held this afternoon day centered on the size and competitiveness of the agri-food cooperatives.

The event takes place in Lorca Sepor Fair, from 16:30 to 20:00.

According to the director of the School of Agricultural Engineering, Narciso Arcas, the aim of the day will deepen the advantages of size to improve the competitiveness of agrifood cooperatives.

This four examples of Spanish cooperatives, which have experienced different forms of growth to become the largest dimension of the country will be presented.

The conference will be attended by the Director General of the Food Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Fernando Burgaz, who will give a presentation on the Law 13/2013 of cooperative integration and other partnership entities agrifood character.

Is also scheduled to hold a round table with the participation of Ricardo Delgado Vizcaino COVAP president;

Joan Mir Piqueras;

ANECOOP CEO;

Antonio Luque Luque, DCOOP CEO Julián Díaz and García, president of ALIMER.

They will explain the process of growth followed by their cooperatives and the benefits achieved by the size attained.

The conference continues the publication size and competitiveness.

Growth experiences in the Spanish agri-cooperatives, whose coordinators were Narciso Arcas Lario, director of the Department;

Espallardo and Miguel Hernandez, professor of the University of Murcia.

The paper presented last April, the evolution and the business model of the thirteen largest companies by turnover associative set of Spanish food sector is analyzed.

In its realization involving a total of 29 professors and researchers from 10 different universities (Córdoba, Jaén, Lleida, Murcia, Cartagena Polytechnic, Polytechnic of Madrid, Polytechnic of Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Valladolid and Almeria) and the research center Sabora .

In addition, the book had a foreword by Eduardo Baamonde, CEO of Agri-food Cooperatives Spain.
