The Cuarentuna Cartagena, belonging to the Association of Former Tunos Cartagenera University celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its foundation (1994-2014) with performing this Friday and Saturday, 20 and 21 June, from different musical and cultural events.
The events will feature also the assistance of the Sisters of Marbella and Cuarentunas Pamplona, ​​as well as Barcelona, ​​Godparents Cuarentuna Cartagena in its infancy.
As most representative of the weekend events include a Round in Women Cartagenera this Friday 20 at 20.30 hours on the balcony of the Casino of Cartagena, where Cuarentunas perform their songs to a representation of Cartagena beauties.
On Saturday 21, after a visit to the Museum of Cuarentunos Roman Theatre and an institutional food with Cuarentunos and Godmothers of Honor, a parade will be held from Murcia doors to the Plaza San Francisco, at 19:30.
Later performances begin at 20.00 hours on the stage erected in the Plaza San Francisco, also with the participation of invited Cuarentunas.
The main objective of the Cuarentuna is to preserve, promote and disseminate the tradition of University Tunas, paying particular attention to its musical, cultural and social aspects, having managed to combine the university youthful spirit with the rigorous nature of interpretation.
During these 20 years Cuarentuna Cartagena has participated in countless international contests Cuarentunas within the circuit, gaining a strong reputation, both musical and human, among other Cuarentunas both Spanish and foreign, having to its credit the organization of V and the VI Certame n (1997 and 1998) as well as recording two CD ¿s, Back and Cartagena Nights with tuna and songs ever, but having original musical arrangements to infer that our strong musical personality Cuarentuna .
