A trip to the past century with the Museum of the Ports of Santa Barbara (11/06/2014)

Residents of the town of Cartagena have donated part of their memories for the visitor to discover the life that led our past generations.

One of the oldest treasures of this collection is a combination of two hundred years ago

The Ethnographic Museum of the Ports of Santa Barbara is eleven years a place to travel through time, in those years in which the milk was going door to door and the trap served as a taxi. All residents of this Cartagena town have put their two cents with donations of objects of that era, from the nineteenth century to the twentieth.

Here the visitor can find a school notebook of 1942, women's underwear was fashionable in the 50s, a jug, a cot, a club or wooden wagon.

With these objects the visitor discovers the customs of a time when the bride gave him a handkerchief to her suitor to remember her during military service or in the kitchen when there was no refrigerator, but crisper, and when to walk fireplace made crumbs.

A ROBE OF 200 YEARS

An average of fifteen hundred people visited last year this landmark located in the west of Cartagena, in the council of the ports of Santa Barbara.
