A Walk in the Catamaran Olé to celebrate the European Maritime Day (20/05/2014)

Nearly five hundred people climbed on Tuesday to the boat for free from another perspective the port of Cartagena.

It is one of the activities that the Port Authority has organized to celebrate this date

Cartagena currently celebrating the European Maritime Day and does so with activities such as Tuesday through which hundreds of people have known one of the greatest treasures of the city, its harbor.

And this morning, the Port Authority offered a ride on the Catamaran Olé free to mark this special day.

The activity is part of the program of activities prepared for the occasion and has had the coordination of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Cartagena Port Authority, the Marine Technology Center of the Sea and the city of Cartagena.

They aim to show the importance of the sea in our daily lives and in the economy and job creation, especially in a maritime region like ours.

Up to 360 people, including locals and tourists, are up this morning to the popular boat in the four outputs that were offered, with 90 seats on each trip.

In addition to the explanations of those responsible for the Authority, today the passenger could also get a little closer to the history of our city through the Association of Friends of the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (AdARQUA), a non-profit works to raise awareness about the cultural wealth the underwater world.

Cartagena can boast one of the oldest ports in the Mediterranean for which they have many past cultures as Roman or Phoenician, he added.
