School of Cartagena put voice to Platero y yo (23/04/2014)

More than five hundred children in some schools in Cartagena came together this morning to pay tribute to the centenary of Platero and I with a chained reading.

And to celebrate they did well, twice, the International Day of the Book.

The activity is one of the ten proposals this week organized by the Municipal Library Network occasion of this festival. Open Book, which is the name of the program, collects many plans for all ages and all tastes.

Ramón Alonso Luzzy The Cultural Center is one of the centers today welcomed this action, and early in the morning received dozens of youngsters who dared, one by one, to read an excerpt of this literary classic.

Other libraries also participate in this initiative are the Centenito, Rafael Rubio, Manuel Puig Campillo, Alfonso Hernández Martínez and Francisco Carrión.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The Roman Theatre Museum is also part of the programming Scripta Manent, a workshop of books and libraries in the old classical antiquity.

Held this afternoon at 19.30 hours and in which will discuss libraries of antiquity.

A cafeterias Cartagena also arrives with Authors Book Day looking and reading.

A group of local writers will talk about their creative process in different locations Wednesday 20 to 21.30 hours.

The activity was developed in collaboration with Literary Authors Meeting in Cartagena.

Meanwhile, Toni Hill, author of Summer of the dead Good toys and suicide, also coming to the Library of Ramón Alonso Luzzy to sign books.
