All set for the Grand Carnival Parade (28/02/2014)

With the security device and about the streets of Cartagena live on Saturday afternoon extravaganza of music and dance that troupes, groups and choreographic jokes parade from City Hall Plaza to flag Jiménez de la Espada

The carnival atmosphere already felt in the streets of Cartagena, it's time the Grand Carnival Parade on Saturday, March 1, wherein music, funny stunts and spectacular choreography, invited to dance around the city center.

The parade has this year with the participation of 9 groups and 12 other child choreography adult, besides the jokes, which this year will have more travel to shine, as the route has increased by 700 meters.

The extras, jokes and choreographic focus groups at 17.00 hours in Cavite Heroes Square, the parade to start at 18.00, passing street, Plaza de San Sebastián, Puertas de Murcia, Sagasti, Tolosa Latour, Carmen, Santa Florentina, Park, Plaza de López Pinto, San Juan, Juan Fernandez, Paseo Alfonso XII Spain Square towards to the door of the Pavilion Espada. Along the route there will be a 5 euro chairs.

Once in the hall, right there will take place from 22.00 hours, the Grand Carnival Ball with live music.

If the party is assured, so is safety, thanks to a special device that the City has launched to the strong day Friday and Saturday morning, where about five hundred local police try to control the botelleo and avoid disturbing the neighbors.

The Councillor for Public Safety, Mariano García, recalled in this regard that the municipal ordinances ban alcohol in public places and police are enforcing ordinances, so that although it has been detected in recent years, a trend social among young people to make the bottle, not only in Cartagena but in many other cities, our intention is that this does not cause a nuisance to neighbors.

To do so, the agents monitor the areas of highest concentration of young people, such as Air and Jara streets in town, Prince of Asturias in the Eixample and surrounding Cartagonova Stadium.

In addition to local police, who will coordinate, as usual, with the National Police, there will be a score of Civil Defence volunteers to focus their efforts on preventing incidents in the parade, controlling the vomitoria established along the route.

Sunday is also a day of celebration in the streets of the city, both the Children Carnival, which is held in the Plaza de Juan XXIII from 12.00, for the celebration of the Half Marathon event which also have prepared a safety device that includes local police and about 30 Civil Defence volunteers, Mariano Garcia noted.
