Violeta Monreal and Care Santos this week visiting public libraries (10/02/2014)

Both writers star in the meetings with authors to be held in the libraries of the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso, Manuel Puig and Rafael Rubio Campillo, where they discuss their books with kids from several schools in the municipality

The Municipal Library Network has organized this week a series of meetings with authors, initiative aimed at bringing together young readers with the author of the text they read and have previously worked in class.

It is an activity that is often very rewarding for the kids, because, as a rule selected authors and works perfectly tend to connect with them.

On this occasion, invited to these meetings are Violeta Monreal and Care Santos, both leaders in the children's literature of this country.

Violeta Monreal will be on Tuesday 11 February at the Cultural Center Library Luzzy Ramón Alonso, with schools the trough, San Ginés de la Jara and Carthage on Wednesday February 12 at the Rafael Rubio bookcase Sacred Heart schools, Vicente Medina, La Atalaya, and on Thursday, 13 February, in the Manuel Puig Campill Library or, with Beethoven and San Felix schools.

All meetings will be from 9.30 am and will address his collection Rotos Papers.

Meanwhile, Care Santos visit to your book sale garbanzo, on Thursday, February 13th, the Library Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy where he will meet with the children of 2nd graders from Marist schools, the trough, Fernando Garrido and Stella Maris, also at 9.30 am.

Monreal VIOLET AND COLLECTION "N PAPERS BROKEN

Violeta Monreal was born in Oviedo.

After graduating in Fine Arts he began his career as an illustrator.

He traveled to New York where he worked with the UN in the illustration of various projects and design firms tarots.

Since then constantly publish books with images in major Spanish publishers, of which many have been written by herself.

Some of his books have also been published in the United States, Japan, Korea, France, Portugal, Italy, Greece and in several Latin American countries.

Along with his work as an illustrator and author of short stories, combines the work of a specialist lecturer in children's drawing.

Specialized institutions, local schools and corporations, as well as other publishers have repeatedly invited to participate in various lecture series and to coordinate practical and theoretical workshops promoting creativity of teachers and students throughout Spain.

He has received numerous awards, highlight CCEI Illustration AWARD 2011.

Torn paper is a collection of 8 books, each with a story based on the colors of the rainbow plus black and white.

It has also a resource guide for use in the classroom.

The distinguishing feature of this project is the creation of drawings based on the technique of torn papers.

This technique is intended to give guidance to people who not only want to read the book but want to work with him in the classroom or at home.

The torn paper moves away from the concept of perfection and admits that the play of chance, because the art is what enhances the final visual outcome.

Thus, children who use these techniques get very showy satisfactory results, offering an alternative to the traditional way of consistent work in painting and erasing.

CARE SANTOS, SOLD GARBANZO

Care Santos was born in 1970 in Mataró (Barcelona).

He began writing at age 8, and from always knew I did not want to do anything else.

At 14 he won his first literary prize and at 25 he published his first book, a collection of stories.

Since then, he has published seven novels, six books of short stories, two books of poetry and a number of novels for teens and children.

In juvenile literature is one of the most read authors of our country, and his work has been translated into German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Hebrew, Greek, Polish and Korean.

He was founder and president for eight years of the Spanish Association of Young Writers.
