Service of Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena has d esmentido a false statement that has begun to circulate through social networks, especially in Whatsapp, wherein the entrance of the village-level red alert is announced and the public is advised withdraw into their homes, while classes were suspended at schools.
Civil Protection has clarified that the current alert level remains yellow for strong winds and recalled that the notices are set by the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) and alerts the Emergency Department of the Region of Murcia (112 ) when an Emergency Plan is activated and NO when it has been established no alert.
As schools and colleges operate as normal on Monday.
