Youth Comenius five nationalities sightseeing in the city (22/01/2014)

Councillor for Education today received at the Palace Hall in the middle of hundreds of students and teachers participating in the program IES Juan Carlos I of Murcia, dedicated to learning English through theater

The rain which began the day in Cartagena has not prevented the arrival of the group of students and teachers from five European countries participating in the Comenius program MASK IES Juan Carlos I of Murcia, and have been received by the Councillor for Education, Joseph Marotta, at the Palace Hall, starting point for your tour of the city, which would also have mandatory stop at the Roman Theatre.

Cartagena is an ancient city three times, the birthplace of several cultures and heritage with a major insurance you like, explained the mayor as he welcomed visitors, a group of 16 teachers and 34 students from Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Spain, in addition to sightseeing, the day devoted to shopping.

The coordinators of this Comenius, Isabel Martí in Spain and Didem à ‡ evik as general coordinator, explained the objective of the program in question, which is to promote the learning of English through drama, while it gives kids an opportunity to exchange culture, customs, experiences and feelings, narrowing the ties between the participating countries.

The Comenius program MASK (Model, Act, Speak and Know), which is coordinated country to Turkey, is to establish exchanges of students and teachers of the participating countries for teaching English through theater and knowledge literary texts in this language.

In addition to theatrical activities in English, the program includes cultural, and social visits.
