The UPCT provides ongoing training and supplies the disappearance of the free configuration with the figure of the extracurricular dedication (02/01/2014)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena unveils this year's figure extracurricular dedication, which allows students to refine their curriculum and provides ongoing training of those who are studying in the UPCT.

"The idea is that if you are interested in a particular subject, you can do it without the title enroll all that is taught," explains José Luis Muñoz Lozano, Vice Chancellor for Academic UPCT.

The dedication extracurricular supplies disappearance, with the adaptation of new grades to the European Higher Education Area, free setup and zoom the figure of the visiting student, restricted to students from other universities.

The goal is twofold.

On the one hand, "to increase the student's ability to define its curriculum complementing various fields of knowledge, as emerging new professions for which there is sufficient training in a single race," Lozano Muñoz argues.

Furthermore, the option to people unrelated to the University to study the materials they want without having to complete titles offered.

"It's a way to optimize resources," the rector.

Students and non-students UPCT eligible for this new figure in the early going and during the extension period of enrollment, with the only limitations that the subjects do not have their stock seats and which are not similar to materials taught already in the degree courses.

For students outside the University, the only requirement is that they have a degree of the same level (undergraduate or graduate) of the subject they wish to study.

Extracurricular courses do not count toward degree credits but can be collected in the Diploma Supplement (DS), which contains everything the student has made during both curricular and extracurricular academic stage.

"It's kind of letter," says Muñoz Lozano "that has been widespread in recent years".
